The 1923 series of Dominion of Canada notes were the last issued notes before the Bank of Canada took over issuing notes in 1935. This note features Edward as Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII, though he abdicated in 1936 before his coronation), wearing the uniform of the Welsh Guards. Similar to other Dominion notes of this time, it's large - approximately 7 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches, and is often referred to as "large format" or "horse blankets". Many of these notes were redeemed and destroyed, so surviving examples are in high demand.
Face Design: HRH Edward Prince of Wales in the uniform of the Welsh Guards
Back Design: Lathework and counters with "Dominion of Canada" over the Coat of Arms of Canada.
