Belgium 1875 Centime Extra Fine (EF-40)
The 1875 Belgium Centimes is a copper-nickel coin issued during the reign of King Leopold II, who succeeded King Leopold I. Leopold II continued his predecessor’s efforts to solidify Belgium’s independence and sovereignty following its separation from the Netherlands in 1830. By 1875, Belgium had emerged as a leading industrial power in Europe, with rapid industrialization driving urban growth and the expansion of its railway network, which supported commerce, trade, and the country’s economic development.
