1901 Canada Royal Visit Duke & Duchess of Cornwall & York Commemorative Medallion
The 1901 Royal Visit was undertaken by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York (the future George V and Queen Mary). The couple toured Canada from September to October of 1901, travelling from Quebec City to Vancouver and back. The tour commemorated Canada's involvement in the Boer War and included the presentation of thousands of medals.
This antique medallion was a souvenir of the Royal Tour. It features the overlapping busts of George and Mary, facing left.
