From the Victorian era up through the 1960s, the triangular dairy token was a common sight in households across Canada. This example comes from Royal Dairy, a staple of Guelph industry from its inception in 1921 to its merger with Donland Dairy Products in the early 1970s. For years, Royal Dairy delivered milk -- in glass bottles and, for a long time, by horse and wagon -- to the doors of customers all over the city. They also ran a popular dairy bar, serving delicious milkshakes and ice cream.
