Austria 1898 Heller VF-EF (VF-30)
The Austro-Hungarian Empire adopted the gold standard in 1892 under the direction of Hungarian Minister of Finance Sándor Wekerle, introducing the Krone as the new currency, which was divided into 100 Heller. The 1898 Austria Heller is a small-value bronze coin that served as 1/100 of the Krone; in the Hungarian half of the empire, the denomination was referred to as the Fillér. This coin remained in circulation until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918.
