Styled after US currency but featuring colourful Disney characters, Disney Dollars began circulating in 1987. Adopted for use in both the California and Florida theme parks -- and, later, at Disney Stores and on Disney cruise ships -- the bills came in $1, $5, and, later, $10 and $50 denominations. They were discontinued in 2016, but remain sought-after collector's items by Disney fans!
This Disney Dollar is dated 1990 and belong to the D-series, indicating that it was printed for use at Walt Disney World in Florida. The obverse displays Mickey Mouse, whilst the reverse features Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, California. Each note has been signed by treasurer Scrooge McDuck. Theoretically, it is still useable -- if you wanted to, you could take it to Florida and spend it!
