In July of 1969, about 530 million people tuned in to watch the black-and-white footage broadcast from the first moon landing. It was broadcast to the world via the 26-metre antenna dish at the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station in Australia, allowing the whole world to witness "one small step."
This commemorative set from the Royal Australian Mint celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Included are a special edition 5-cent and $1 coin, representing the moon and the Honeysuckle Creek Tracking Station.
