Released to commemorate Seoul's hosting of the 24th Olympic Games, these beautiful silver coins are crafted from .900 silver.
The first coin is a 20,000 won piece that features the Seoul Olympic logo on the reverse. On the obverse, two wrestlers grapple. The script is in Hangul, and reads, "Commemoration of Hosting the 24th Olympic Games - Bank of Korea - Twenty Thousand Won."
The second coin is a 10,000 won piece that features, again, the Seoul Olympic logo on the reverse. The obverse features Gyeonghoeru, a historic banquet hall connected to the royal palace of Gyeongbokgung in Seoul. Built in 1867 to replace a smaller 15th century ruin, Gyeonghoeru has been featured on South Korean money in various forms since 1983.
