Styled after US currency but featuring colourful Disney characters, Disney Dollars began circulating in 1987. Adopted for use in both the California and Florida theme parks -- and, later, at Disney Stores and on Disney cruise ships -- the bills came in $1, $5, and, later, $10 and $50 denominations. They were discontinued in 2016, but remain sought-after collector's items by Disney fans!
This highly collectible Disney Dollar dates to Walt Disney World's Millennium Celebration. The reverse features Spaceship Earth, the iconic centrepiece of EPCOT, sporting the "2000" and giant Sorcerer Mickey arm that decorated it for the duration of the event. Having circualted for a very limited time, this Disney Dollar is particularly sought after by collectors!
