1982 Sarnia, ON, 125th Anniversary Commemorative Dollar
Perched on the junction of the Upper and Lower Great Lakes, Sarnia is a natural harbour. This was what originally attracted the French in the early 19th century, who were trading furs with the Huron and Three Fires Confederacy. By 1857, the settlement had grown to about 1000 residents and the town was incorporated as Sarnia.
This commemorative dollar celebrates the 125th anniversary of Sarnia's incorporation.
