1982 Bradford, ON, 125th Anniversary Commemorative Dollar

Located in the Holland Marsh farming community, Bradford, Ontario, was first settled in 1819. In these early years, the community -- mostly Irish immigrants -- was almost perfectly isolated by the marsh. The first road was completed in 1825. By 1857, the population had grown enough for Bradford to be incoporated as a village.

This 1982 token celebrates the 125th anniversary of Bradford's incorporation. The reverse calls it the "Heart of Canada's Vegetable Industry."
