Kingdom of Bohemia 1310-1346 John of Luxembourg Groschen Almost Uncirculated (AU50)
John of Bohemia (1296–1346), also known as John of Luxembourg or John the Blind, was King of Bohemia and Count of Luxembourg, renowned for his chivalric reputation and active role in European politics. The son of Henry VII, Holy Roman Emperor, he spent much of his reign campaigning across Europe, often acting more as a knight-errant than a resident ruler. Despite losing his eyesight later in life, he continued to participate in military affairs and famously fought at the Battle of Crécy during the Hundred Years’ War, where he was killed while charging into battle. His legacy is tied to ideals of medieval knighthood, and he was succeeded by his son, Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor.
