Great Britain 1691 William & Mary 2 Pence Very Good (VG8)

William III (also known as William of Orange) and Mary II were co-rulers of England, Scotland, and Ireland from 1689 until William's death in 1702 (Mary having died in 1694) following the Glorious Revolution, which deposed Mary’s father, James II. Their reign marked a major shift toward constitutional monarchy, as they accepted the Bill of Rights (1689), limiting royal power and strengthening Parliament. William focused heavily on foreign policy and opposing Louis XIV of France, while Mary managed affairs in England during his absences. Their partnership helped stabilize the monarchy and laid foundations for modern British governance.

Obverse: Conjoined laureate portraits of William and Mary, with the legend around.
Reverse: Crowned denomination with the legend around, the cross on the crown dividing the date.
