2027 Canada $100 Lunar Year of the Goat 1/2 oz. Pure Gold Coin (No Tax)

Lucky red

The coin is encapsulated and elegantly presented in a luxurious red lacquered wooden case with a red beauty box, evoking the Chinese New Year custom of gifting “lucky money” in a red envelope.

A gold Ram

This intricate design is filled with auspicious symbols to attract prosperity in 2027, while also honouring those born in the Year of the Goat (or Ram, or Sheep): 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015 and 2027.

Is it the Year of the Goat, Ram or Sheep? The Chinese zodiac sign is represented by a single character ( or yáng) that can be translated as goat, ram, or sheep—different names, same wise spirit.

The reverse design by artist Simon Ng celebrates the Year of the Goat (or Ram or Sheep) (“”) with a graceful, stylized ram whose curling horns echo the swirling clouds that bridge the earth and the heavens. Fire, the ruling element in 2027, burns within the Pearl of Wisdom above, sending out energy that fuels the Goat’s creative spirit. The lucky flowers (carnations and primroses) adorning its form herald good fortune and the promise of renewal. The reverse includes the word “CANADA”, the traditional Chinese character for “Goat” and the year “2027”. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
