2026 Mixed Canada $2 50th Anniversary of the CN Tower Regular Roll of 25pcs

Canada’s National Tower turns 50.

Since opening to the public on June 26, 1976, the CN Tower has stood as an iconic beacon and symbol—of Toronto, of Canada, and of what can happen when imagination and innovation converge. The 2026 $2 commemorative circulation coin celebrates Canada’s tallest freestanding structure on the 50th anniversary of its official opening. Each Special Wrap Roll contains 25 struck coins, either coloured or uncoloured, with the same view of Toronto’s evolving skyline, where the CN Tower stands as a testament to Canada’s optimism and ingenuity.

A towering achievement: Celebrating Canada’s CN Tower.

Toronto’s changing skyline is represented by the silhouettes engraved on the outer ring, while within the core design, the 1976 cityscape stands in the shadow of today’s taller skyscrapers.

In early 1974, construction on the CN Tower wasn’t even finished, yet it had already become the tallest structure in Canada, on its way to claiming the title of the world’s tallest freestanding structure. Today, The Top stands as the highest observation platform in the Western Hemisphere, at 447 metres (1,465 feet) above the ground.

Designed by Canadian illustrator Carl Wiens, the coin’s reverse commemorates the 50th anniversary (“50 YEARS ANS”) of the official opening of the CN Tower (“LA TOUR CN TOWER”) on June 26, 1976. The inner core features a view of the CN Tower overlooking Lake Ontario and dominating a contemporary downtown Toronto skyline, whose tall skyscrapers tower above an outline of the city’s skyline as it appeared in 1976. Additional silhouettes on the outer ring represent five decades of growth and architectural evolution, with the skyline in 1976 appearing on the left and the 2026 cityscape on the right—a visual record of Toronto’s transformation into a modern, world-class city. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
