2026 Canada $20 Crown Jewels: A Tribute to the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Elizabeth II Fine Silver
Grow your collection of Crown Jewels with this take on a famous ruby necklace. Order today!
The Baring Ruby Necklace, acquired by Queen Elizabeth II in 1964, is among her most celebrated ruby jewels. Its clusters of vivid rubies and diamonds, culminating in a dramatic three-pendant centrepiece, were worn to many banquets and formal occasions—and one particularly striking moment came in 1977, when she opened Canada’s Parliament in Ottawa, where flashes of ruby mirrored the nation’s red in a historic moment of elegance.
Celebrate the timeless legacy of Queen Elizabeth II on the centenary of her birth with this jewellery-themed 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin, the third in our Crown Jewels series. Adorned with 20 red crystals and 27 white crystals, all set in sterling silver jewellery mountings, the coin’s reverse reimagines the Baring Ruby Necklace as distinct elements—the neckline and the pendant centrepiece—arranged to complement the coin’s circular shape while honouring the harmony (and sparkle) of the original design.
A royal tribute, with crystals and Canadian flair.
Unlike the royal brooches highlighted on previous Crown Jewels coins, the Baring Ruby Necklace was not a gift, but a personal acquisition: it was bought at auction in 1964. It became one of Queen Elizabeth II’s most prominent ruby jewels, often worn for major occasions, including the 1977 opening of Canada’s Parliament in Ottawa as part of her Silver Jubilee royal tour.
The coin’s reverse features an artistic interpretation of the Baring Ruby Necklace, acquired by Queen Elizabeth II in 1964 and frequently worn throughout her reign. A total of 20 ruby-toned crystals and 27 white ones—all set in .925 sterling silver custom mountings plated with rhodium—are arranged across the design, with clusters along the outer edge echoing the necklace’s neckline, while the three-pendant centrepiece is surrounded by engraved filigree scrollwork incorporating the maple leaf and Tudor rose. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
