2023 KCIII Canada 25-cent Caribou Regular Wrapped Original Roll of 40pcs

In keeping with tradition, His Majesty King Charles III’s profile faces left on each coin’s obverse—this is the opposite direction in which the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was depicted during her reign.

The previous effigy update was in 2003, when the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was debuted on Canada’s coins. The more informal depiction was designed by Vancouver-based artist Susanna Blunt.

The antlered representative of Canada's northern wilderness, the caribou first appeared on the 25-cent coin in 1937.
