The Royal Mint continues their Myths and Legends Series with the new 2022 Maid Marian 1oz Coins. This series illuminates the beloved tales and legends that have been carried throughout the centuries. This 2022 Great Britain Myths and Legends 1oz coin continues the theme of the first coin by highlighting story Maid Marian from the legend of Robin Hood. Maid Marion is known as a women of great rank and a person of the people. During their journey through Sherwood Forest, Maid Marian gathered valuable information to help Robin Hood. In some versions of the legend, Robin Hood and Maid Marian wed by the end of the tale.

The reverse of this coin illustrates Maid Marion carrying a bow and arrows while secretly looking through the trees of the Sherwood Forest. Accompanying this image is "Maid Marian", silver content, year and weight. The obverse of this 2022 coin displays the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, accompanied by the face value.
