2021 Canada 100th Anniversary of the Bluenose Keepsake Set

Join the 100th anniversary of Canada’s most famous schooner, the Bluenose, with the 2021 100th Anniversary of the Bluenose Keepsake Set. Introduced on Canada's 10-cent coin in 1937, the Nova Scotia schooner was launched on March 26th, 1921. As of October 1921, the Bluenose schooner rose to high standards of victory and fame as it won the first International Fishermen's Race. To mark its 100th anniversary this 2021 Bluenose Keepsake Set includes three commemorative dimes: a struck-only dime, a coloured dime (the first coloured dime) and a classic double-dated dime.

This 7-coin 2021 100th Anniversary Bluenose Keepsake Set, includes the following circulation coins:
  • 5-cent coin
  • a struck-only 10-cent Bluenose coin
  • a coloured 10-cent Bluenose coin
  • 10-cent coin
  • 25-cent coin
  • $1 coin
  • $2 coin
The reverse of the 2021 struck-only and coloured Bluenose coins was designed by Yves Bérubé, a Canadian marine artist. These 10-cent coins are double-dated ("1921-2021") to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the launch of the iconic Canadian schooner. The engraved image depicts the Bluenose under full sail and heeled to part on the open ocean. The ocean is pained in a radiant blue on the 2021 coloured version. The obverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

The Classic 10-cent design was originally introduced in 1937, and this updated 2021 double-dated ("1921-2021") reverse design was created by Emanuel Hahn to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the launch of Canada's famous ship. This coin features the classic portrait of the Bluenose under sail. The obverse depicts the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
