2020 Canada Two Dollar Silver Proof (No Tax)
Known colloquially as the "twoonie", the Canadian Canada Two Dollar coin was first introduced in 1996, replacing the Canada Two Dollar bill. Designed by artist Brent Townsend, the twoonie depicts an adult polar bear.
This coin was originally a part of the 2020 75th Anniversary of V-E Day Fine Silver Proof Set.
Features:
A special locking mechanism allows the outer ring and the core to stay locked together. This patented mechanism was been developed by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The coin is made of pure alloy material and the manufacturing process requires specialized equipment.
Since 2006, the bottom of the obverse side features the Mint Mark, which consists of an encircled design composed of a stylized maple leaf emerging from the letter M.
