2019 Canada $30 Majestic Birds in Motion - Golden Eagles Fine Silver (No Tax) - Coin #3
Strong and agile, the golden eagle is the third and final of the three great Canadian species featured in the Majestic Birds in Motion series. Each coin selectively highlights the bird’s colourful plumage and sets it apart from its engraved surroundings, while a multi-frame hologram re-creates its characteristic flight movements across the sky.
The reverse image by Pierre Leduc steps into the mountains of western Canada, where the golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) is most commonly found. A selectively coloured eagle flies on broad wings in the foreground, where the three-quarter view allows the careful study of its distinctive, finger-like flight feathers. Two additional golden eagles fly across the sky on a separate scene in the background, where the embedded multi-frame hologram re-creates their flight movements. The reverse also includes the word “CANADA” and the year “2019”. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
