2015 Tuvalu Star Trek - Captain James Kirk Silver Proof (TAX Exempt)
Captain James Tiberius Kirk was immortalized by actor William Shatner in the original Star Trek and in seven feature films, as well as the animated version of the series. Captain Kirk became Starfleet's youngest captain when he took command of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 for its five-year mission.
The coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
The coin's reverse portrays a colour image of William Shatner as Captain James Tiberius Kirk as he appeared in Star Trek, against a representation of the U.S.S. Enterprise and the inscription CAPTAIN JAMES T. KIRK. The design also includes The Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark, and the coin's weight and fineness.
Issued as legal tender under the under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2015 year-date are shown on the coin's obverse.
