A celebration 100 years in the making. The Royal Canadian Mint proudly announces the Saskatchewan Centennial 25-cent Coin. For the first time in its history, the Royal Canadian Mint offered the public an opportunity to vote for a coin design. Selections were commissioned by the Saskatchewan Arts Board, and then chosen by Canadians. Specially packaged in this limited edition cover, this 25-cent piece was minted on the first day of production, May 23, 2005.
