1859 Narrow 9 Triple Punch 1 Canada 1-cents Extra Fine (EF40)
While the first of the 1859 dies used were undoubtedly overdates of the 1858, the majority of the 400 dies made were dated with a narrow 9 punch. This version features one version of the tripling on the 9 in "1859".
Obverse: Young laureate head of Victoria, facing left, with the legend around.
Reverse: Denomination and date within a beaded circle, surrounded by a vine of 16 maple leaves.
