1987 Canada Proof Loon with Blue box. A proof striking of the loon dollar was issued by the numismatic department of the Royal Canadian Mint in 1987.
1987 is a momentous year for Canada as the government released the $1 coin. The coin's reverse design is created by Robert-Ralph Carmichael and it comes with the common loon that's swimming on a lake. The loon, it should be noted, is significant to Canadian culture because it symbolizes the friendly as well as trusting natures of Canadians. The obverse comes with an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This beautiful coin comes in a box from the Royal Canadian Mint. As is typical, white outer cardboard sleeve may have wear or may be missing, and capsule may be lightly scuffed.
