1982 Large Beads, Type 1 Canada 50-cents ICCS Certified MS65
Large Beads (Type 1) Variety: In order to increase the die life for the nickel 50-cent planchets, the design was altered by decreasing the relief needed to create the Queen's image. Thus, the original die has larger beads along the rim, and the Queen has a higher relief, which is visible within the Queen's hair.
Obverse: Diademed bust of Elizabeth II at age 37, facing right, with the legend around.
Reverse: The updated Royal Coat of Arms of Canada, with the country name to the left, denomination to the right, and a crown dividing the date.
