1938 D USA Half Dollar F-VF (F-15)

The Walking Liberty half dollar was minted from 1916 to 1947 and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful U.S. coin designs. Created by sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, the obverse features Lady Liberty striding toward the dawn of a new day, draped in the American flag, while the reverse depicts a majestic eagle perched on a rock. Struck in 90% silver, the coin circulated widely during both World Wars and the Great Depression. Its iconic design was later revived for the American Silver Eagle bullion coin, first issued in 1986. Collectors prize the series for its artistry and several challenging dates, especially in higher grades.

Obverse: Liberty walking to the left, with a sun in the background, "Liberty" around, motto to the right, and the date below.
Reverse: An eagle just before takeoff with its wings spread, country name above, and denomination below.
