The 1923 Monroe Doctrine Centennial Half Dollar was promoted by the California film industry with the First Annual Historial Revue and Motion Picture Film Industry Exposition. The Monroe Doctrine stated that the efforts of European countries to interfere or establish new colonies would be considered an act of aggression. This doctrine had a long-standing impact on US Foreign policy.
