1867 USA 1-cent Good (G-4)
The first United States cent was produced in 1787, and has been the lowest face-value of physical currency since the half cent was abolished in 1857. The US Mint officially stopped producing the 1-cent coin for circulation on November 12, 2025, with the final coin struck in Philadelphia. Driven by the high cost of production, which was nearly four cents per coin, President Donald Trump decided to end the "wasteful" 230 year-old practice, which is estimated to save approximately $56 million annually.
