1859 Canada 1-Cent ICCS Certified VG-10 Narrow 9; Brass; Corrosion
The majority of 1859 Large Cent dies include a narrow 9 punch instead of an overdate. There are over 400 dies that were used for the 1859 Large cents, however there are seven die varieties that are largely recognized. This 1859 Large Cent in particular includes a rare error variety in which the Narrow 9 is made with brass instead of bronze like it's predecessors. The brass can be identified based on the yellowish colour.
