1858 First 8/5 Canada 10-cents ICCS Certified F-12
First 8/5 Variety: This occured because of a blunder with the dating in which the "5" punch was used to repair a defective first "8" in 1858. The top of the "5" can be seen just slightly rising above the first "8", as these numbers were punched simultaneously.
Obverse: Laureate portrait (Young Head) of Queen Victoria facing left, with the legend around.
Reverse: Crowned denomination above date, within a wreath of two maple boughs .
Obverse 1 Variety
Hair Detail: The first two strands curve and break at the temple. The next three strands join to make one thick strand.
Eyelid detail: Upper eyelid is completely formed but does not join the lower lid at the corner of the eye.
Outer ear detail: The opening to the ear is completely enclosed by the outer ridges.
