Ten Nevada Goldback Aurum 1/100oz 24K .9999 Gold Wafer Foil Note (No Tax)

These 24K foil notes contain 1/100oz .999 Fine Gold.  Goldbacks resemble standard paper currency in shape but are made with thin layers of 24-karat gold. Initially introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act, they serve as a voluntary currency, allowing transactions at the vendor's discretion. Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and South Dakota, Florida, and Oklahoma—have each launched their own Goldbacks in subsequent years.

This Nevada Goldback depicts Lady Justita — Latin for Justice. She is depicted holding the scales of Justice, but unlike how Justice is normally portrayed, her eyes are wide open. Other design elements include a barrel of wine with a Winchester, wild horses and the opulent Storey County Courthouse in Virginia City that was built during the heyday of the area’s silver mining boom. Made in the USA by Goldback Inc., using proprietary Aurum® technology to create durable, gold-backed currency.
