1950 Toronto, ON, Canadian National Exhibition Department of Labour Aluminum Token
The first Canadian National Exhibition (known colloquially as "The Ex") took place in 1879. It mostly existed to promote agriculture, engineering, and industry, but has since expanded into one of Canada's largest community events, featuring carnival rides, live music, parades, sporting events, and a widely beloved airshow.
This 1950 token was issued by the Department of Labour for circulation at the Ex. The reverse reads "FACTORY INSPECTION BRANCH / SAFETY PAYS."
