1979 Williams Lake Golden Jubilee Trade Dollar Token
Williams Lake, affectionately nicknamed Billy's Puddle, was founded during the Cariboo Gold Rush. It connected to the goldfields via two pack trails, which made it a perfect stopping point for prospectors, and a link to the Pacific Great Eastern Railway boosted it to the status of a town by 1929.
This brass token, minted in 1979, celebrates Williams Lake's fiftieth anniversary. It features a cowboy with a lasso on the reverse and the town's shield on the obverse.
