1924 USA Peace Silver Dollar in Slab, Very Good (VG8)
Circulated between 1921 and 1928, and again between 1934 and 1935, the Peace dollar was designed by Anthony de Francisci. By the end of World War I, the Morgan dollar and its warhawk imagery was becoming outdated; instead, America wanted symbols of peace. The new dollar featured an eagle at rest, holding an olive branch in its talon over the legend, "Peace." This 1924 Peace dollar is encased in a slab labelled with a grade of Very Good. The Peace dollar was the last circulating American dollar coin to be struck in 90% silver.
