USA Liberty Mint USS Constitution 1oz Fine Silver Round (No Tax) issues
Comprised of 99.9% fine silver, this one-ounce American round features the USS Constitution, the world's oldest commissioned warship that's still floating. Constitution was launched in 1797 and is mostly notable for her participation in the War of 1812, where she captured five British warships. The capture of one of these, the HMS Guerriere earned her the affectionate nickname "Old Ironsides." Retired in 1881, the Constitution served as a receiving ship until she was restored as a museum ship in 1907. The text on the reverse of this round reads, "No State Shall Make Any Thing But Gold and Silver Coin A Tender To Payment of Debt." This is from Article 1, Section 10 of the US Constitution.
This coin comes in a sturdy plastic capsule which shows some minor scratches and scuffs. The round exhibits some toning.
