This stunning, pure silver hologram coin captures the awesome majesty of Niagara Falls, one of Canada's most famous natural wonders. Perched on the Canada-U.S. border, Niagara Falls hurls more than 3000 tonnes of water over its edge every second with such force that it erodes about a foot of rock every year. This means Niagara Falls is actually moving backwards! Since its formation at the end of the Ice Age, Niagara Falls has very slowly chewed its way up more than 11 kilometres of the Niagara River. Its original position, in 10,500 BCE, was at the edge of the Niagara Escarpment.
This striking coin is one of three celebrating Canada's natural wonders. The hologram effect grants the detailed engraving an illusion of cascading water. This coin has been inspected by ICCS and graded PF66.
