Honouring the 1918 Armistice, this Australian first day cover includes a two-dollar coin with a bright red poppy, and an "Honouring the Fallen" one-dollar stamp. The Armistice of Compiègne came into effect November 11, 1918, at 11:00 am Paris time, bringing an end to the First World War. This would later be formalized at the Treaty of Versailles, signed in June of 1919.
