1969 Pierre Elliott Trudeau "Building a Just Society" Silver-Toned Medallion
In 1968, Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau popularized the idea of the "Just Society." Based on a 19th-century philosophy that valued social liberalism, Trudeau's "Just Society" valued multiculturalism and led to the creation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
This 1969 medallion features a left-facing bust of Trudeau, and, on the reverse, hands held around a globe and the text, "Canada: Building a Just Society That All May Live in Brotherhood and Peace."
