Italy 1857 Naples 2 Tornesi Almost Uncirculated (AU-50) $
The Italy 1857 Naples 2 Tornesi coin was issued by the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, located in Southern Italy under the control of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. The kingdom was the largest sovereign state by population and land area in Italy before the unification of Italy. When the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of Sicily came together to form the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, they agreed on a single unified currency, the Ducat, but made adjustments so the Piastra, which was used by the Kingdom of Sicily prior, and the Neapolitan Ducat were at par with each other and changed the name for consistency.
