Pair of Great Britain 1992 & 1998 50 Pence .925 Sterling Silver Piedfort Proof Coins in Case. These coins were not originally sold together as a set; originally the latter was accompanied by another 1998 coin honouring the National Health Service. Together the two coins contain about 1.3oz. pure silver weight.

The 1998 coin (16 grams) "celebrates the 25th anniversary of [the United Kingdom's] entry into the European Economic Community and also its presidency of the European Union (EU) during the first six months of 1998". It bears the twelve stars of the EU bursting forth in a manner similar to fireworks, with the dates of 1973 and 1998 below on the reverse. This coin is toned and scratched.

The 1992 coin (28 grams), honouring "British Presidency of European Council of Ministers" in 1992-1993, features a table decorated with twelve stars representative of both the twelve members of the Union and the location of each corresponding country's capital city. There are twelve seats around the council table as well, both seen from an overhead view. This coin is scratched and perhaps faintly toned, and does not come with a CoA.
