The modern population arrived in the area in the late 6th century, when it was still part of Roman Illyria. It was part of the Holy Roman Empire, and then Yugoslavia, until a four-year War of Independence created a new Croatian state.
These notes, the first of the new Republic, feature physicist and astronomer Roger Joseph Boscovich, who was born in Dubrovnik. They come tightly packaged in plastic wrapping.
