According to the Chinese Zodiac, the year 2013 is ruled by the Snake. This coin celebrates the unique heritage and ancient culture of Chinese Canadians.

This coin is certified to be 99.99% fine silver with a weight of 15.87 grams and a diameter of 34 millimetres. The reverse image designed by Canadian artist Simon Ng features a coiling snake with spots on its body forming the Chinese character for 'snake'; along the coin edge a familiar Chinese pattern encircles the snake, the word 'CANADA,' the date '2013,' and the face value of '10 DOLLARS.' The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by artist Susanna Blunt.
