Five New Hampshire Goldback Aurum 1/200oz 24K .9999 Gold Wafer Foil Note (No Tax)

These 24K foil notes contain 1/200oz .999 Fine Gold.  Goldbacks resemble standard paper currency in shape but are made with thin layers of 24-karat gold. Initially introduced in Utah following the Utah Legal Tender Act, they serve as a voluntary currency, allowing transactions at the vendor's discretion. Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and South Dakota, Florida, and Oklahoma—have each launched their own Goldbacks in subsequent years.

This New Hampshire Goldback is the second time that Veritas, or Truth, makes an appearance on a Goldback. She is depicted here wearing a colonial dress, offering the light of a candle, and walking along a path that leads to a covered bridge over a foggy river. She symbolizes the light of truth and offers that light to others, beckoning them to come toward her and follow the path that leads them safely through the fog of obscurity and confusion that is their downfall without her light.
