1975 Edmonton AB Klondike Days Trade Dollar 4-coin Set in Folder
The 1975 Edmonton, AB Klondike Days Trade Dollar 4-Coin Souvenir Set was released during Edmonton’s annual Klondike Days, a national 10-day exhibition now known as K-Days. Klondike Dollars were struck annually for decades, featuring the festival mascot “Klondike Mike” on the reverse and a unique obverse design each year. The 1975 edition showcases a Canadian Pacific Railway train pulling into Strathcona Station, built in 1908—a major gateway for settlers, goods, and trade that played a vital role in developing Edmonton’s economic and cultural life by connecting southern Alberta to the northern regions. Each of the four coins in this set features a different mint mark: the hat, the cane, the shovel, and the pick. They are housed in a folder with an info card detailing the history and significance of the Strathcona Depot. Please note the coins show some toning, and the folder shows wear.
