The 1938 Australia 1/2 Penny features the newly crowned monarch, King George VI, marking the first year of issue with his effigy and a transition from the previous George V design. The reverse displays the traditional inscription "One Half Penny" encircled by "Commonwealth of Australia." This coin remained in circulation until the adoption of decimal currency in 1966.
