Australia 1989 Pre-Decimal Coinage 7-Coin Set in Folder (light wear)
Australia switched to decimal currency on February 14, 1966. Before the switch, the country used shillings and pence in the style of its colonial predecessor, Great Britain.
This handsome 1989 set collects one of each denomination of Australia's pre-decimal coinage in a full-colour folder with an informational insert. Coins are individually encapsulated and date between 1954 and 1964. Included are 1 halfpenny, 1 penny, threepence, sixpence, 1 shilling, a florin, and a special 1954 florin commemorating Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Visit.
