Minted to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the start of the American Revolution, the "Spirit of '76" token displays a marching flautist and two drummers in 18th-century military dress, surrounded by thirteen stars -- one for each of the rebel colonies. The legend reads, "SPIRIT OF '76." Usually, these tokens have a reverse design also related to the Bicentennial celebration -- this one, oddly, does not.
