All over the world, Precious Metal buyers increasingly care about how their Gold is mined and where it comes from. In response to the value now placed on responsible and transparent metal sourcing, the RCM is pleased to introduce a special edition GML.

About the Single-Sourced Mine GML

This Gold Maple Leaf bullion coin is composed of pure Gold sourced entirely from a single source: Agnico Eagle’s Meliadine mine in Nunavut, Canada. Since its founding in 1957, Canada-based Agnico Eagle has grown into Canada’s largest miner of Canadian Gold, as well as the world’s third-largest Gold producer overall.
Now, in 2024, the Mint issues a third bullion coin composed entirely of gold originating from a single Canadian source - this time, the Detour Lake mine in Northeastern Ontario, 100% owned by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited (Agnico Eagle). Founded in 1957, Agnico Eagle is a Canadian senior gold mining company committed to building and operating a growing, high-quality, and sustainable business. It is the largest producer of gold in Canada and the third-largest gold producer in the world. Located within the northernmost Abitibi Greenstone Belt, Detour Lake is the largest gold-producing mine in Canada, with gold reserves of 19.9 million ounces.
