The Platinum 1/2oz Maple Leafs were only produced from the Royal Canadian Mint from 1988 - 2002. Similarly, the Platinum 1/10oz and 1/2oz pieces were also produced from 1988 - 2002.

Unlike the Platinum 1oz equivalent that was produced from 1988-2002 and then reintroduced from 2009 to date), the 1/2oz & 1/4oz can only be found in modern commemorative RCM fractional sets.
